Barnaby and Southfork Lake

This beautiful hike offers spectacular views as you ascend the steep slopes above the West Castle Valley. Taking you through a patch of sub-alpine forest, you are rewarded first by the blue-green of Barnaby Lake followed shortly after by Southfork Lakes.  Start and end your hike crossing a foot bridge over the Castle River.

This shorter trail climbs steeply through the forest to three amazing alpine lakes. A connector trail loops around and connects Barnaby to the South fork Lakes. It is a great place for an overnight camping trip.

It is possible to scramble up to the top of the ridgeline and continue hiking south for several kilometers. Please be advised: The ridgeline route is unmarked, windy, and some sections may be technical and exposed.
