A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.

    June 21st: Be prepared for very slippery and changing conditions when heading out this weekend as heavy precipitation may continue to fall. Expect snow at around 1600m and accumulation at higher elevations. 

    Special Weather Statement is in effect for the area this weekend. Expect heavy rain and high winds, both of which could change the trail conditions rapidly. Plan your trip accordingly.

    At any time come prepared for a variety of conditions. Be sure not to overestimate your ability when planning your trip: Bring plenty of water, snacks and multiple clothing layers.

    Be aware of closures in the area and check advisories before you go.

    • Trails in this park are graciously maintained by the 300 Group Trail Maintenance Association.

    • Practice wildlife safety. Travel in groups, make noise on the trail, and keep pets on leash. Carrying bear spray and knowing how to use it is highly recommended, even in winter.
    • It's tick season! Make sure to check you and your pets when you get home. For best protection, use a bug repellent with DEET.
