A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.
  • Closure - Hidden Trail

    Effective:  June 26, 2025

      • Effective Date: June 25, 2025 until further notice.
      • Where: Hidden Trail from the Centennial Ridge Junction near Ribbon Creek to the Skogan Pass and Ruthie’s Trail Junction near Troll Falls.
      • Why: Due to activities associated with demobilization work required following the G7 Leaders' Summit.

  • Notice - Kananaskis Village Common Area

    Effective:  May 26, 2025

      The Kananaskis Village Common Area is now open following the G7 Leaders’ Summit, however, please be advised that the area remains busy while staff complete demobilization work.

    Affected Areas

  • Bear Warning - Kananaskis Golf Course

    Effective:  May 8, 2025

      • Effective Date: May 8, 2025 until further notice
      • Where: The Kananaskis Country Golf Course including parking lots, Club House, maintenance compound, and other buildings.
      • Why: Multiple grizzly and black bears frequenting the area.

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Keep all attractants secure from bears including food, garbage, recycling, pet food and any other scented item. Never leave these items unattended.
    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.
