Fat Biking

A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.

    Fat biking at Canmore Nordic Centre is only permitted on designated single track trails marked with fat bike signage.

    • No trail winter trail fees are required for Fat Biking.
    • Consider purchasing a Canmore and Area Mountain Biking Association Membership. CAMBA volunteers support the Fat Biking grooming program.
    • A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.

    Wildlife Corridor

    A wildlife corridor exists in the portion of Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park located above the stadium area at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park. Travel in this area is:

    Fat Biking Single Track Trail Etiquette

    • Fat Biking is permitted on designated single track trails only. Stay off groomed ski trails except at designated trail crossings and short segments as signed.
    • Winter Biking recommended tire width and pressure in snowy or soft conditions is >3.7 inches and <5 psi.
    • If leaving ruts greater than 1 inch on groomed single track trails, turn around and consider using other trails.
    • If leaving post holes greater than 1 inch on groomed single track trails, turn around and consider using other trails.
    • Dogs are prohibited on single track in winter.
    • Be an ambassador for the sport. Be polite, educate other riders and discourage bad behaviour. Please show respect for the park and other visitors.
