  • Construction Closure - Boat Launch and Seawall Closure

    Effective:  October 15, 2024   Updated:  May 1, 2025

      Alberta Parks is giving the seawall area at Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park a refresh.  The following areas are closed for the winter with an anticipated reopening in Spring 2025:

      • Seawall
      • Shoreline near the seawall
      • Trails and stair access to the seawall and Day Use Boat Launch area
      • Day Use Boat Launch
      • Carson Cove Store and day use boat trailer parking lot.
      • Peninsula Shower House parking lot
      • Seawall upper parking lot

      Construction is weather dependent and can take place seven days a week from 7am to 9 pm. 

      Hand Launch access is available in G loop at the Beach or H Loop between campsite 174 and 175. Please see the advisory notice for winter/spring camping information.  Regular winter closure of Loops A-F including the F-Loop boat launch is in effect until May 15. 

      At this time, there is no way to launch boats that require a boat launch.

  • Operational Service Change (OSC) - Carson-Pegasus Winter/Spring Information for Visitors

    Effective:  October 15, 2024   Updated:  May 1, 2025

      Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis in Loops G and H. 

      • Please register at the Self-registration vault located just beyond the seawall parking lot before G Loop. 
      • Payment can be made by cash or cheque. 
      • Power sites in G and H loops continue to have 15/30 Amp power Year-round.
      • Please bring your own Firewood.   
      • Please bring your own water as there is none available in the park. We aim to have non-potable water by May 16, however Carson-Pegasus has been known to have deep frost. Please watch here for details. 
      • Last night for First come-First serve, self-registration is Wednesday May 14, 2025.  On Thursday May 15, the campground is 100% reservable. Visit Shop.AlbertaParks.ca to book your stay.   
      • Docks have been removed from the lakes

      The seawall, staircases and day use boat launch on the peninsula are closed as the area is undergoing a refresh.  More details on dates and service interruptions are posted on the advisory's page.
