Details:As of September 22nd, 2025 Crimson Lake Provincial Park Campground will be transitioning to first-come, first-served for Winter Camping. All other loops and group sites will be closed for the fall and winter.
Loop B sites will have 15 AMP power, but no water service in the off season. Showers and dump station are not available and firewood may be available with limited service, payable by cash or cheque only.
Loop B is currently fully open for first come, first served "winter" camping, but only 13 sites are regularly maintained, ploughed, and powered throughout the winter: B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4,B-8, B-9, B-10, B-29, B-30, B-31, B-32, B-33, B-34.
Day Use Areas are open all year.
The Campground will open for Peak Season Camping on May 13th, 2026 - Peak season camping is by reservations only and bookings begin 90 days prior.

Where: Fish Creek PP , Sikome Aquatic Facility
Details:Located within Fish Creek Provincial Park, Sikome Aquatic Facility (Sikome) is an artificial waterbody that welcomes approximately 100,00 visitors annually. Operated seasonally for the summer months, Sikome serves as a public swimming and recreational area. Although Sikome opened to visitors in the late 1970s, it has not undergone major renovations since its initial construction. Parks Division acknowledges the importance of supporting Albertans’ ability to access parks and opens spaces for health and well-being.
Parks Division plans to update Sikome Aquatic Facility to provide a modern ‘urban’ provincial park visitor experience. Construction in support of building refurbishment at Sikome Aquatic Facility will include replacement of two existing admissions booths as well as renovation of five existing buildings:

Construction for building modernization commenced in December 2025. To avoid impacts to visitors, major construction activities are occurring while Sikome is seasonally closed to visitors. It is anticipated the facility will be ready to welcome visitors in Summer 2026 (subject to change). Please stay tuned for the opening date on the Alberta Parks website.
Please note that select areas within the facility may be temporarily closed during 2026 on an as-needed basis as minor construction activities wrap-up. We recognize construction is inconvenient. However, it necessary to ensure visitor safety and support construction efficiency. Please follow all posted signage and do not cross construction barriers.
Other facilities and services in Fish Creek Provincial Park will not be impacted. Access: Access to Long Island with Comfort Camping, Community Facility, and Boat Launch will remain open during this time.
Details:Please be advised that construction on the causeway bridge at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park is ongoing. Initial work has been completed, with the bridge surfacing scheduled for May. Access to Big Island is currently closed to the public and is planned to reopen on May 14, 2026.
Access to Long Island that has the year-round Comfort Camping, the Community Facility, and Boat Launch will remain available. The access to these facilities/amenities and operations have not been impacted by the construction.
Conservation Officers have the ability to enforce area closures under the Provincial Parks Act. Please do not cross construction barriers and follow all signage. During this construction, there will be no emergency support or maintenance occurring on Big Island of Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park. If visitors access Big Island of Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park from the lake, it is at their own risk.
We recognize the closures are inconvenient; however, they are necessary to ensure public safety and support construction efficiency. The Government of Alberta is committed to improving high-traffic recreational areas across the province. The project will ensure infrastructure meets current standards, improves public safety, and supports positive visitor experiences.

Details:The Lower Wild Sculpture Trail and Upper Wild Sculpture Trail are accessible for hiking but be aware that the trails can be steep and have washed out in some places due to mud slides.
