Alberta Parks Ambassador Program

Cassandra is an Alberta-born outdoor enthusiast who has been exploring Alberta Parks for as long as she can remember. She loves hiking dog-friendly trails and discovering lesser-known parks across the province with her fiancé, John, and their adventure-loving pup, Harper. While she and her family enjoy the mountains and badlands, they especially love shining a light on lesser-known parks, hoping to inspire others to embrace adventure and discover the beauty, experiences, and surprises that can be found close to home.

Jared, Taffin and their newest addition, Scout, along with their two rescue dogs, Whisky and Echo, make up the Anderson Pack! They are avid adventurers and photographers, and love to spend their time outdoors exploring the beautiful locations that Alberta has to offer. You will find them outside in rain or shine, mud or snow, doing anything and everything from hiking, backpacking, paddle-boarding, fly fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, trail running, and trailer camping. Jared and Taffin bring the baby and dogs on all their adventures, and truly embrace anything that comes their way. They love to inspire other like minded individuals to fill their cups and live their best adventure exploring the outdoors, with kids and dogs in tow, however that may look!

I was born and raised in a small BC mountain town and have been exploring the outdoors ever since I can remember. I moved to AB in 2017 and immediately fell in love with the Alberta Rockies and the variety of different landscapes it has to offer.

Connecting with nature fuels my soul and keeps me grounded in a fast-paced world. I am passionate about exploring the outdoors with my loved ones and documenting my adventures through photography and filming. My favorite outdoor activities are hiking, backcountry camping, running, paddle boarding, xc skiing, and downhill skiing!

When I’m not outside, you will find me working as a full-time nurse, listening to music, drinking coffee, going to the gym, playing video games, and journaling.

Most of my free time is spent hiking toward alpine lakes, chasing sunrises in the mountains, and trying to convince myself that carrying a heavy backpack is actually fun. Alberta Parks are my favourite place to unplug, explore new trails, and remind myself why the long hikes are always worth it!

I am a homeschooling mom to 2 littles, focusing on outdoor learning and nature exploration. As a social media manager and a professional photographer and videographer, I find joy in creating storytelling videos that highlight our family experiences. My mission is to nurture in my children a love and respect for the earth, its creatures, and each other, as they are the stewards of tomorrow. As well as sharing these experiences with our community.

My favourite way to experience Alberta Parks is through challenging day hikes, multi-day backpacking trips, and quiet mornings at a campsite surrounded by mountain views. I’m a Southern Alberta-based creator who balances a full-time career with a deep passion for the outdoors, and I love helping other women feel capable and prepared to explore our parks with confidence.

During the week I work for the City of Edmonton's Urban Forestry Department as one of many tasked with the maintenance and health of the city's urban forest. Off work hours and weekends, you can find me travelling around the province to the many provincial and national parks. I enjoy camping, hiking and I'm always in search of breathtaking photos of the landscape, wildlife and the night sky. My recent passion has been bird wildlife photography and capturing the many species that call Alberta Parks home.

Born and raised in the Himalayan hills of India, my love for mountains began early in life. Living in Alberta now feels like coming full circle, where I spend my time exploring Alberta Parks and the Canadian Rockies through hiking and camping with my husband and my adventure buddy Synin-who may no longer be a puppy but still loves every trail as much as I do.

Susanne and Jeff are full-time working parents raising two adventurous toddlers and their furry trail buddy, Fred. They believe that having kids doesn’t mean hitting pause on life—it means bringing them along for the adventure. Their four-year-old has already conquered hikes with over 600 metres of elevation on his own, while little 2 year old sister is proudly making her mark on the trails with nearly 200 metres under her belt, showing that big adventures come in small packages. As a family, they love exploring Alberta Parks by hiking and camping, often letting their kids lead the way on trails and in the imagination. They also enjoy paddle boarding, climbing, and discovering new ways to experience Alberta’s parks in every season.

With Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park just steps from home, Tanya takes every opportunity to explore northern Alberta’s parks throughout the year. Alongside her husband and their two dogs, she seeks out new trails, scenic landscapes, and the subtle seasonal changes that many people miss. Through nature photography, she captures and shares the beauty she finds, hoping to inspire others to slow down, look closer, and discover their own connections to Alberta’s natural spaces. Tanya’s passion lies in encouraging people to appreciate and protect the parks that make the province so unique.
